Updated In September, 2011 - PDC Poker is one of the leading poker rooms on the Merge gaming network. They are the oldest room on the network. PDC Poker used to be Poker.com but the domain was sold and Merge re branded that poker room as PDC Poker. PDC Poker has the advantage of offer the best promotions and bonuses since they have close ties to the network. PDC Poker may be a "skin" but they have a lot to offer. Before I go any further I want to point out what type of player this room is best for. PDC Poker is perfect for recreational, micro stakes and small stakes players. This is one of the most community-like poker rooms and most of the promotions have been designed for the casual small stakes player.

There is plenty of medium stakes action at PDC Poker but small stakes is their speciality. They excel at stakes ranging from $.02/.04 to $5/10. People come to a room like PDC Poker to learn how to play poker and have a good time. If As I mentioned before most of the promotions, bonuses and tournaments have been designed to offer small stakes players with rewards they can actually take advantage of. These players are mostly ignored by the big rooms despite the fact that they are the life blood of any poker room. The action at PDC Poker is extremely soft so this is a very profitable room for skilled players. The software features a first class poker room, mini-casino and a game room.

PDC Poker has many new and exciting features that make their software the best in the industry. I won't even try to list all of these features here but I will name a few. The one I like the best is the Rabbit Hunt. If everyone else folds you have the option of having the dealer deal the rest of the community cards. You can also type the word "donkey" in the chat box and a donkey will appear on the table. There are many other codes you can type in like "fish" and "shark" but I will let you discover them for yourself.

As I mentioned already PDC Poker's tournament line-up focuses on small to medium sized tournaments. Buy-ins typically range from $2.20 to $33 but they do offer some larger events like their daily $60 and $88 tournaments that offer $6,500 - $10,000 guaranteed prize pools. Overlays are more common at PDC Poker than 90% of the poker rooms online today. Overlays are great way to get the most out of every dollar in your bankroll. An overlay occurs when the guaranteed amount is higher than the combined total of the buy-ins.

For example, if a tournament has a $10 buy-in and a $3,000 guaranteed prize pool. If only 150 players signup that means that there is a $1,500 overlay so each buy-in will essentially be worth $20. You'll be getting twice the value you would at a tournament with no overlay.

PDC Poker offers the following games. I won't lie to you though, the traffic at many of these games is low. Under each game I have indicated how much traffic each game receives based on PDC Poker's overall traffic. So a medium amount of traffic might only reflect 2-3 active real money tables since PDC Poker's traffic peaks at around 8,000 players.

The Caribbean Stud is my favorite game. There are two separate progressive jackpots for this game, one for $1-$4 bets and another for $5+ bets. These jackpots usually range from $25,000 - $100,000. Depositing at PDC Poker used to be a pain at times. Credit card deposits now have a 90%+ success rate and they are adding new options regularly. Their newest deposit option is My Voucher. Cashouts have always been a sore spot for PDC Poker. U.S. players can only cashout via paper check which can take a couple weeks.
